Police have launched a homicide investigation after the loss of life of a 66-year-old man six days after he was punched exterior a village pub.
David Darke died in hospital on Saturday after being injured close to to the Crown Inn in Appleby Magna, North West Leicestershire, on 21 December.
Leicestershire Police mentioned a 36-year-old man initially arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily hurt had been re-arrested on suspicion of homicide.
Officers had been referred to as to the pub at about 9.45pm final Sunday.
The drive mentioned the sufferer was exterior when he was punched and sustained a severe head damage.
