Gardai had been known as to the M4 in Kilcock amid experiences of a male driver armed with a suspected firearm at 9am on Saturday.
Officers managed to find the car and following a prolonged managed containment operation, the automotive and motorist had been intercepted in Tallaght shortly after 10.30am.

He was detained at a Garda Station in Co Kildare after the incident.
