The M53 motorway is closed in Merseyside tonight (Tuesday, October 28) because of an ongoing police incident.
The northbound carriageway is shut to site visitors between J5 (Hooton) and J4 (Bebington) whereas Merseyside Police stay on the scene.
The closure was first reported at round 11.17pm.
A Nationwide Highways spokesperson mentioned: “The M53 northbound is at present closed between J5 (Hooton) and J4 (Bebington) because of a Merseyside Police–led incident. Nationwide Highways Visitors Officers are on scene aiding with site visitors administration. There may be at present no vital congestion reported on method.
“If this closure impacts in your deliberate route, please permit additional journey time. Plan forward, you could want to re-route and even delay your journey.”

Motorists are being requested to comply with the Stable Circle diversion image. Go away M53 northbound at Jct 5.
At M53 Jct 5/A41 roundabout, take the primary exit onto A41 southbound New Chester Highway for 0.7 km. At A41/B5133 junction, flip proper onto B5133 westbound Hooton Highway for 4.2 km.
At B5133/B5151 junction, flip proper onto B5151 northbound Birkenhead Highway for five.7 km. At M53 Jct 4/A5137 roundabout, take the second exit and rejoin the M53 northbound at Jct 4
