A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting demise by careless driving after a 87-year-old man was killed by a highway sweeper in Leicestershire this week
Tributes have been paid to a pensioner who died after being struck by a highway sweeper.
Leicestershire Police officers have been referred to as to Holy Bones, outdoors the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, simply earlier than 2.15pm on Monday, October 13. The pedestrian, a person in his 80s, was handled on the scene earlier than being taken to hospital.

Mr Singh was vice-president and a founding member of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, and since his demise tributes have been pouring in.
In a tribute to Mr Singh, his household and members of the Gurdwara stated: “He was a really humbled, devoted husband, father, grand and nice grandfather and somebody who made a tremendous contribution to the Sikh neighborhood in Leicester.
“We’re devastated by the loss and very shocked by what has occurred. He was an awesome individual and a loyal member of the gurdwara – somebody who selflessly and tirelessly contributed to creating an actual distinction. His demise is being felt by so many individuals.”
Jagjit Singh Kular, a committee member, instructed the BBC: “He is an excellent buddy of ours as properly. He is a really clever individual, and really humble, very well mannered, and he is a really educated individual as properly. So, we miss him, all of the neighborhood misses him as properly.”
Leicestershire Police stated it was was working with Leicester Metropolis Council to determine the circumstances surrounding the demise. Detective Sergeant Mike Steer stated: “We’re working to know precisely how the collision occurred following the unhappy information that the person died in hospital final night time.
