A street has been taped off this night
Two pedestrians have been severely injured following a crash involving a police automobile tonight (Friday, September 19).
Police and paramedics have been referred to as to Wigan Street, Leigh, shortly after 9pm.
The pedestrians, a person and a lady, have each been taken to hospital.
A cordon has been put in place and the street is shut to site visitors because of the incident.

A Better Manchester Police spokesperson mentioned: “We’re at present responding to a collision involving a police automobile and two pedestrians which occurred at 9:08pm this night (Friday 19 September 2025) on Wigan Street, Leigh.
“The pedestrians – a lady and a person – have been taken to hospital with severe accidents.
“In-line with regular process, referrals have been made to GMP’s Skilled Requirements Directorate.”
