The sexual assault trial of former Central Coast Mariners participant Angel Torres has heard he met his alleged sufferer at a Terrigal nightclub and used Instagram to point out her he was knowledgeable soccer participant.

In his opening remarks in Gosford District Court docket, Crown prosecutor Andrew Lynch informed the jury Mr Torres, a Colombian nationwide, made eye contact with a 21-year-old lady from throughout the dance flooring in March 2024 and signalled for her to hitch him, utilizing Google Translator to speak.
